Out with the Schramsberg – In with the Trump.
I suspect the Schramsberg 2007 Reserve Sparkings will be replaced by a few Trump 2009 Sparkling Blanc de Blancs in the White House Cellar.
Donald Trump, a self-proclaimed teetotaller, owns a handsome winery in Virginia not far from the famous Jefferson Vineyards at Charlottesville near Monticello.
My guess is that for future White House dinners President Trump will not replicate Richard Nixon’s habit of pretending to serve a First Growth Château Margaux or a Château Lafite Rothschild by substituting the same for a quality (albeit tad inferior masked red).
‘Tricky Dick’s’ White House waiters were instructed to serve the pretend Bordeaux with a towel wrapped around the bottle so as to hide the label.
